New MINI crossover pics leaked

MINI has been working on a new vehicle for some time now. We have seen concepts of a four-door crossover in various stages of development, and we have heard rumors of optional drivetrains.

Now we are closer to an official look at the finished product. A new MINI is set to debut on the MINI International website by February 7, and based on the website's description it will be the Countryman, a four-door crossover with all wheel drive as an option.

Due to the shaky automotive market here in the States, we may not see the Countryman until late 2010 at the earliest. After all, MINI isn't looking to follow in Kia's footsteps when it released the Borrego, an attractive SUV that unfortunately debuted at the beginning of our economic crisis.

While we won't get the Countryman just yet, that doesn't mean we can't appreciate leaked pictures and an unusual promotional video of the crossover.
